Iranian Students Take Second Place In World Physics Olympiad

TEHRAN, July 23 (MNA) -– Iranian students ranked second in World Physics Olympiad competitions with bagging three golds, one silver and one bronze.

According to Young Students Club of Ministry of Education, in 35th World Physics Olympiad, which was held in South Korea, Mehrtash Babadi and Behruz Obeiri snatched gold, Farhad Pasha Khanlu won silver and Hamid Reza Chalabi bronze medal. 

 

In this scientific competition, 365 students from 73 countries participated and China, Iran and South Korea ranked first to third respectively.

 

Iranian team last year with two golds and three silver bagged the fourth medal.

 

In 2001, Iranian students team, with five gold medals, won the second rank.

 

The team will return Tehran tomorrow.
