Amir-Hossein Tajdini, Reza Javadinejad, Mohammad-Reza Mohammadi from Tehran, Arvin Shahbazi-Moghaddam from Rasht, Gilan Province, and Kasra Hejazi from Mashad, Khorassan Razavi Province comprise Iranian five-member team at the IPhO 2009.
The team is accompanied by observer Mohammad Khorrami and team leader Ahmad Shariati.
Sponsored by the Mexico Ministry of Education, the National Council of Science and Technology, and the Yucatan State Government, the IPhO 2009 is being held from July 12 to 19, 2009.
Organized by the Mexican Physical Society, the University of Yucatan and the Merida Campus of the Center for Research and Advanced Studies of the National Polytechnical Institute, the contest provides a unique opportunity for high school students to demonstrate their abilities in physics, exchange experiences and build cross-cultural contacts.
Participants will experience the opportunity to make new and lasting friendships with peers from all over the world; visit archeological sites full of ancient history; admire the beautiful landscape, and to attend talks by world renowned scientists regarding interesting research in physics.
