During the phone call, the two top diplomats exchanged their views on mutual relations and recent regional and international developments in the light of the continued US-Israeli aggression against Iran and its consequences.
Araghchi briefed his Indian counterpart on the latest developments related to the US-Israeli aggressions and Iran’s legitimate right to self-defense, emphasizing the need for independent countries to exert pressure on the aggressor and initiator of war to end the aggression.
Iran’s top diplomat also stressed the need to get guarantee from the aggressor in order not to repeat attack against Iran’s national sovereignty and territorial integrity.
Elsewhere in his remarks, Araghchi pointed to the current situation in the Persian Gulf and Strait of Hormuz, stating that the current tension in the Persian Gulf and Hormuz Strait is the result of hostile and aggressive acts by the United States and Israeli regime against Iran.
Stopping the attacks and also aggressions of aggressors is the way to normalize the situation, he said, adding that cessation of war must be accompanied by the guarantees that prevent repetition of these aggressions.
The foreign minister of India, for his part, emphasized the development of cooperation between the two countries in various fields, highlighting the significance of efforts to restore stability and security in the region.
The top Iranian and Indian diplomats agreed to continue bilateral contacts and consultations with other countries of the region.
