Speaking in a weekly press briefing at 20th Iranian Veterinary Medicine Congress and 1st Specialized Veterinary Medicine Exhibition, he said, “list of raw materials required by the Institute has been submitted to the government for producing vaccine and drug.”
He lashed out at the lackluster performance and lack of cooperation of European companies with Iran in sanctions period and asserted, “since food and drug do not subject to sanctions, some of European companies refrain from selling vaccine and drug to Iran and for this reason, most vaccine and drug needed in the country are imported into the country from India.”
There is no concern about providing vaccine and drug needed in the country, he said, adding, “in addition to meeting domestic demand, some part of products of the Institute are currently exported to abroad.”
He pointed to the foot-and-month disease and said, “about 13 to 15 million doses of this vaccine is produced by Razi Vaccine and Research Institute while the rest is imported into the country by the State Veterinary Medicine Organization.”
