KRG PM, Iranian delegation discuss expanding ties

TEHRAN, May 02 (MNA) –The KRG PM Nechirvan Barzani and an Iranian delegation have met in Erbil to discuss expanding bilateral relations.

The Iranian Ambassador to Iraq Iraj Masjedi and some other Iranian officials in Iraq have traveled to Iraqi Kurdistan capital Erbil to attend a conference on developing economic ties between Iran the Kurdistan region.

According to the KRG Prime Minister office, in the meeting, Nechirvan  Barzani and the Iranian delegation headed by Masjedi discussed developing all-out bilateral ties.

The two sides also discussed expanding Iranian firms’ presence in Kurdistan region as well as removing customs barriers to develop bilateral trade relations.

In addition to Barzani and Mesjedi, Iran Consul General in Erbil Morteza Ebadi as well as Iran’s Commercial Attache in Iraqi capital Baghdad were present in the meeting.

The conference on developing economic ties between Iran the Kurdistan region is underway on May 2-3 in Erbil and will be attended by Iraqi Kurdistan prime minister, ministers of industry and mines of Iran and Iraq, the ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Iraq, provincial governors of the northern provinces of Iraq, and Iran and KRG chambers of commerce members.
