The 15th Asian Men’s Junior Championship, which also marks as a qualification round for IHF Men's Junior World Championship 2017 to be hosted by Algeria, opened on Friday July 22 in Amman.
In the opening match of the tournament, Iran’s junior handball squad faced Jordanian rivals.
Iranian handball players performed astonishing athletic performances and managed to subdue host Jordan 41-17.
Also on the first day of the sportive event, Qatar overcame China 36-20 as well as that Japan hammered Palestine 49-15.
The Iranian outfit, who have been seeded in Group A of the Asian championship together with Uzbekistan and Jordan, will play their second encounter on July 24 against Uzbek rivals.
The Asian tournament kicked off on July 21 in the Jordanian capital and will come to an end on August 01.
