Iran’s embassy in Tokyo had held Islamic Republic’s National Day ceremony in Japan, and invited Japan’s as well as foreign diplomatic and political figures. Reza Nazarahari welcomed the guests during the ceremony and congratulated them on the 35th anniversary of the Revolution. “85 years passed since Iran and Japan made their first diplomatic contact. During these years, despite international developments, both sides have continued the relations based on mutual respect in a constructive path,” Nazarahari told the audience.
Nazarahari pointed to recent developments including Iran and Powers Geneva nuclear deal, President Rouhani’s proposal in the UN ‘World against Violence and Extremism,’ and Iran’s plans to boost economic diplomacy to find a better place in the 3 next decades.
“Recent developments would provide a firm base for Iran and Japan to improve their long years of friendship and cooperation,” he added.
Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs Takao MAKINO congratulated the audience on 35th anniversary of Revolution in Iran. He believed sending oil tank Nishimaro in 1953 by Japan and Islamic Republic of Iran’s humanitarian aid for Japan during 2011 tsunami and earthquake as two ‘unforgettable’ examples of Iran and Japan friendship in foreign policy.
He also emphasized on Japan’s willingness to boost bilateral ties in regional and international issues.
The ceremony was attended by many figures. Some government officials, representatives, Japan’s Army staff, Hiroshi Okada, Senior Vice-Minister of Cabinet Office, Koichiro Gemba, the head of Japan-Iran parliamentary friendship group and former foreign minister, Yokio Hatoyama, former prime minister, Vice Admiral Fonda, the deputy-chief of the Japan’s Naval forces, Mr. Tsukasa Uemura, Deputy Director –General of the Middle Eastern and African Affairs Bureau, Jun Shimmi, Ambassador in charge of the United Nations Affairs, David Melon, the president of UN university, and other economic and cultural figures.
