Regional intelligence services behind Chabahar terror attack

TEHRAN, Dec. 08 (MNA) – Iranian Intelligence Minister Seyed Mahmoud Alavi condemned the recent terrorist attack in Chabahar, southeastern Iran, saying Iran holds regional terror sponsors and intelligence services accountable for the horrific incident.

He made the remarks on the sidelines of a two-day international meeting of parliament speakers from Iran, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Turkey, China and Russia on peace, connectivity and prosperity in the region, which is being held in Tehran.

Noting that “regional intelligence services following the Zionist regime’s strategies are behind this heinous act,” Alavi said the Islamic Republic of Iran will punish perpetrators and supporters of the terror attacks Chabahar and Ahvaz City.

The senior official called on the regional governments to gear up security measures and boost their intelligence power so as to prevent such mishaps in their countries and in the region.

On Thursday morning (Dec. 6), an explosive-laden vehicle attacked the police headquarters in Chabahar, killing two sentries and injuring a number of other people, including the passersby.
