‘The Servant’ scoops one win, one nomination at intl. filmfests.

TEHRAN, Oct. 24 (MNA) – Iranian animated short ‘The Servant’ directed by Farnoush Abedi has won Best Animation Film Award at Serbia’s Film Front festival and been nominated for Best Short at Wasteland film festival in US.

‘The Servant’, which has been so far screened at over 100 international festivals and scooped as many as 20 awards, narrates the familiar story of a master and his servant, the story of a writer’s encounter with a gigantic insect: a cockroach.

In its most recent screening at the 15th edition of International Short Film Festival – Film Front in Serbia, Abedi’s animated piece managed to win the Best Animation Award.

Established in 2003, this year’s Film Front festival is held in Serbia’s Novi Sad, Vojvodina, on October 26– 28, 2017.

The festival’s goal is to promote young filmmakers and their auteur’s expression, no matter if it is experimental or traditional, accepting fiction, experimental, documentary and animated shorts.

‘The Servant’ was also shortlisted for receiving Best Animation award at the 6th edition of Wasteland Film Festival in California, US. The festival recognizes itself as the world’s first post-apocalyptic short film competition and exhibition.
