‘Junk Girl’ stands third at Italian Solidando Filmfest.

TEHRAN, Dec. 18 (MNA) – Iranian animation ‘Junk Girl’ directed by Shalale Kheiri and Mohammad Zare has won the third place for Best Special Short Film at Solidando Film Festival in Italy.

Inspired by a poem from Tim Burton’s book “The Melancholy Death of Oyster Boy and Other Stories", Junk Girl is about a doll girl made of junk, who is mistreated by everyone and forced to leave her city.

The 16-minute short movie won the third prize of the best social short film of the Italian event.  

The Solidando Film Festival was held from 8 to 11 December in the city of Cagliari in Italy. It is an international competitive festival of short films for the following genres: documentary, fiction or animation exclusively on social themes.

Muhammad Umar Saeed’s The Learning Alliance from Pakistan received the first prize while Thanos Psichogios’ Carlos from Greece won the second prize.
