The 2014 short animation Junk Girl created by Iranian artists Shalale Kheiri and Mohammad Zare was screened on Tuesday October 6, in 34th edition of Pordenone Silent Film Festival in Italy.
Made in Iranian northwestern city of Tabriz, the film is about a doll girl made of junk, based on a poem by Tim Burton from his The Melancholy Death of Oyster Boy, and Other Stories.
The film has so far been nominated for awards in many different film festivals around the world and garnered more than 30 awards.
It was firstly screened in 2014 edition of Tehran's International Short Film Festival.
An annual festival of silent film, Le Giornate del cinema muto (Pordenone Silent Film Festival) is held in October in Pordenone of northern Italy. Kicked off on October 3, this edition of the festival will run through October 11.
