Iran, Venezuela relations a ‘good model’ for others

TEHRAN, Apr. 4 (MNA) – Venezuelan Foreign Minister Nicolas Maduro emphasized that the relations between Iran and Venezuela are a “good model” for the friendly countries.

“The new approach to the relations between the two countries can be a good model for the relations between friendly nations,” he said in a meeting with his Iranian counterpart Manouchehr Mottaki here on Saturday.

Maduro expressed hope that the relation will be a start for the South-South cooperation in building a multi-polar world.

Mottaki, for his part, expressed satisfaction over the current level of ties between Tehran and Caracas.

“The increasing level of relations has become such that steps should be taken to depict a ten-year prospect for the relations.”

The administration of President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has put boosting the relations with African and South American countries on the top of its foreign policy agenda.

In keeping with this policy, Mottaki recently made a tour of Africa and South America which took him to Gambia, Mauritania, Mali, Brazil, and Venezuela.
