Spokesman for Iran’s Defense Ministry Brigadier General Reza Talaeinik made the remarks in a news conference in Tehran on Tuesday, emphasizing that Iran’s production of defense equipment and weapons has considerably increased and has reached 2.5 times more than the prewar.
Referring to the country's current situation, Talaeinik stated, “We are in a phase of consolidating successes and finalizing the enemy's defeat during the course of the more than seven-month of sacred defense operation and these successes have been achieved through the efforts of people, powerful Armed Forces, the wise leadership of the Islamic Revolution as well as cooperation of the pillars of the Islamic Establishment.”
The spokesman then pointed to the enemy's psychological warfare and recent narratives regarding the possibility of aggression or hostile acts by American and Zionist adversaries, stressing, “Any act of aggression or hostility will be met with a decisive response from the Islamic Republic of Iran and will result in heavy defeats for the enemy.”
Iran’s defense production capacity has increased 2.5-fold since before the Ramadan war, with some weapons seeing more than threefold growth, he reiterated, noting the defense programs have been adjusted to wartime needs.
He termed national strength and resistance as the primary strategy for finalizing the enemy's defeat and securing the rights of Iranian nation, stating that eradicating and uprooting the US military presence from the region and putting an end to the Zionist regime's acts of evils would be among the major achievements of the recent Sacred Defense [12-, and 40-day wars], and that this process would be brought to completion through current and future events.
Punishing American and Zionist murderers and terrorists is the firm resolve of the Islamic Republic of Iran, he noted, “Under no circumstances, the crimes committed by the enemies against the country in assassinating Leader of the Islamic Revolution Seyyed Ali Khamnei, innocent children, students, and other victims of these atrocities will not be forgotten.
Referring to the ministry's performance over the past seven months, he stated, “Following the martyrdom of former Defense Minister martyr Aziz Nasirzadeh, the Ministry of Defense was led by Brigadier General Ebn- al-Reza and this period was marked by various successes and served to continue the proud legacy established during martyr Nasirzadeh’s tenure.”
Turning to the growth of the country's defense production, Talaeinik stated, "Three months ago, we announced that the production volume of indigenous weapons and equipment had roughly doubled compared to the period prior to the 40-day war [Ramadan War] however, that figure has now risen to 2.5 times, and the country's capacity for producing defense weapons and equipment has reached two and a half times the level seen before the Ramadan Sacred Defense."
He described the increase in production of weapon and weaponry equipment in the country as the result of taking advantage of maximum capabilities of knowledge-based companies and efforts of the country's defense industry sector.
The strategic depth of arms logisticss, the indigenous nature of defense weaponry and equipment, and the expansion of domestic production capacity are key components of national power that enhance the country's resilience against the enemy, the spokesman added.
