Persian Gulf security should be maintained by regional states

"As we have said many times, we can maintain the security of the region," said Rear Admiral Alireza Tangsiri, calling the presence of transregional forces in the region harmful.

"Today, the Persian Gulf is completely safe and we can ensure the security of this international waterway with the contribution of the people of the region and the neighboring countries of the Persian Gulf," he added.
