Larijani urges public support for quake-hit areas

TEHRAN, Nov. 13 (MNA) – Ali Larijani, the speaker of Iran’s Parliament, urged the ministry of health and other Iranian ministries to give priority to the earthquake-stricken areas of Iran.

At the beginning of the plenary meeting of the Iranian parliament on Monday, the speaker of Iran’s Parliament Ali Larijani said “I offer my condolences to the families of the victims of the relatively powerful earthquake that struck certain provinces in Iran last night, especially Kermanshah and Ilam. I ask the ministry of health and other ministries to set as their top priority providing aid to earthquake stricken areas and the victims.”

“Nonstop efforts have been made since last night to send aids to the stricken areas. We also thank the supreme leader for asking the military forces to provide immediate help for the victims,” he added.

“Public support is necessary for aiding the earthquake stricken areas. We call upon the parliament commissions for construction and internal affairs to dispatch rescue teams to the areas so that the rescue missions are carried with more immediacy and the damages can be assessed,” concluded Larijani, the speaker of Iran’s parliament.
