Anti-Iran claims to escape from self-made swamp: FM spokesman

TEHRAN, Mar. 10 (MNA) – Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Bahram Ghasemi described the claims made by the foreign ministers of Arab League as 'baseless and void.'

“Iran’s ownership of the threefold Islands of Abu Musa, the Greater Tunb and the Lesser Tunb is an undeniable and permanent fact that could not be touched by such claims and statement  full of lies,” asserted Bahram Ghasemi on Friday.

Ghasemi’s remarks came after the repetition of same worn-out claims of the Arab League states in support of what they call the entire sovereignty of the United Arab Emirates on the three Islands.

About some Arab League countries’ re-stating and re-claiming Iran’s interference in their domestic affairs, Ghasemi said that the Islamic Republic of Iran has never interfered in the internal affairs of any country and basically has never felt any need to do so.

Posing the same irrelevant and inappropriate claims against Iran is only a futile escape for some countries to project their domestic problems in a vain effort to get out of a swamp which themselves have made it deeper with their desperate grappling,” reaffirmed the Iranian diplomat.

He finally called upon the member states of the Arab League to be careful not to lose time, money and energy on repeating baseless claims.
