“One of the reasons that Syria has been targeted and a full-fetched war has been waged on it is its stable and principle stance in defending the people of Palestine,” asserted Hadiyeh al-Abbas, Syria's Parliament Speaker, on Tuesday in Tehran, while addressing the 6th International Conference on Palestinian Intifada. “The issue of Palestine will always be the focus of our effort and attention.”
After offering her gratitude to Iran’s Leader for holding the conference, Ms. Abbas said that she feels honored for attending and addressing such a conference. “From here, I offer the greetings and wishes of success for the people of Syria and the Syrian President, Mr. Assad, to this meeting and to fulfillment of the cause of it serving the people and resistance of Palestine to restore their legitimate rights,” reaffirmed the Syrian top MP, “Iran has had a sincere support for the cause of the people of Palestine since 1979.”
Recounting the situation of war in her country, the Syrian legislator said that the goal shared by terrorists and the supporters of terror in Syria is to weaken the role of Syria in supporting Palestine and the resistance front against occupation. “The Zionist regime is the main supporter of terrorists groups in Syria, backing them logistically and military-wise,” underlined Ms. Abbas. “Treating the wounded terrorists in their hospitals demonstrates how strong is the tie between Israel and the Takfiri terrorists (who are against Syria and the region).”
The top Syrian lawmaker blamed the regional countries who support terrorism in Syria and said that with murdering the people of Syria and wrecking Syrian institutions, economy, and infrastructures, they have done a big favor for “the Zionist regime” which uses its full power to undermine the role of Syria and the resistance front and impose its expansionism in the region.
“This conference is held in a difficult situation of fate-making challenges ahead of the issue of Palestine and the whole region, under the shadow of meta-narratives aiming to eliminate the cause of Palestine in favor of the Zionist regime,” maintained Ms. Abbas. “That is why we believe that the measures, stances and mechanisms undertaken should fit the goal of unity for Palestine and the resistance of the people of Palestine against the occupiers and conquerors as the sole way of liberating the lands, restoring the rights, and establishing the independent country of Palestine with Jerusalem as the capital.”
