Unity, solidarity of Muslim countries 'essential'

TEHRAN, Feb. 22 (MNA) – Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani said the unity and solidarity of Muslim countries are very important in the current situation with regard to international developments.

He made the remarks in a meeting with Lebanon's Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri on Wednesday, on the sidelines of the 6th International Conference on Palestinian Intifada, currently underway in Tehran.

In present situations, Larijani noted, providing support for the Palestinian cause is very important and all Muslim countries should move towards the same direction.

Nabih Berri, for his part, said the Islamic Awakening Movement begins with the Palestinian issue and we all should defend the Palestinian cause.

“Due to the international developments and US new stance, the Arabs must return to the axis of resistance,” he underlined.

Larijani also held talks with Jordanian and Ugandan counterparts as well as Algeria's vice speaker of the parliament on Wednesday.
