“The government put inflation control high on agenda and managed to reduce it from 40.1 in 2013 to 11.9 in early 2016 though the figure will become even smaller in the coming month,” underlined the official.
“We have also had great success in the areas of oil and agriculture,” stressed the President maintaining “the volume of agricultural production has been increased from 97 to 112 tons over the past few years as well as that strategic food reserves like wheat and rice have become threefold in amount.”
Hassan Rouhani further commented “South Pars development phaseS 12, 15, 16 and 17 have become operational while three or four more phases will be inaugurated by the end of the current year.”
“Moreover, the country’s gas production has increased by 150 million cubic meters in the same period,” continued the official.
Rouhani touched upon foreign trade emphasizing “for the first time ever in 60 years, the country’s non-oil export surpassed non-oil imports leading to positive development.”
“Iran also could witness positive balance of trade for the first time after eight years,” he added.
The Iranian President later referred to the nuclear deal with the 5+1 group of countries saying “during the negotiations, the nuclear rights of the nation were stabilized as cruel resolutions against the country were cancelled.”
“The first step following the removal of sanctions would be gaining access to the oil market,” highlighted Rouhani asserting “in this regard, we have managed to reach pre-sanction conditions.”
He went on to stress that “crude oil exports have hit two million barrels while oil production has also been increased from 2.7 to 3.8 million barrels per day.”
President Rouhani further called for unity and resistance noting “these features are required in order to achieve the goals mentioned.”
“Reaching the desired level of economic growth proves difficult without new markets,” underlined the Iranian president concluding “accordingly, we need to look for new domestic and foreign markets as well as for foreign investment.”
