Rouhani urges boosting Iran-Slovakia ties

TEHRAN, May 17 (MNA) – President Rouhani, while receiving credentials of the new Slovak ambassador to Tehran, emphasized expansion of ties between the two countries’ chambers of commerce.

Speaking during a ceremony to receive credentials of Lubomir Golian, Slovakia’s new ambassador to Tehran, President Rouhani said “Iran-EU ties are being reinvigorated as grounds are ready for joint cooperation in various economic, political, scientific and cultural fields.”

Pointing to Slovak 2016 Presidency of the Council of the European Union, Rouhani added “the presidency of Bratislava in the council can open a new window towards accelerating Tehran-EU collaborations.”

Delineating Iran’s vast capabilities and facilities, the official continued “multilateral ties between the two sides need to be deepened in all sectors while firm banking relations can further boost cooperation.”

Iran’s President emphasized the need for joint venture in both countries’ private sectors commenting “bolstering of connections between Iranian and Slovakian chambers of commerce as well as establishment of a joint chamber of commerce could exert influential effects on promoting the level of economic and trade collaborations between Tehran and Bratislava.”

The new Slovak Ambassador to Iran Lubomir Golian, for his part, described priorities of his mission in Tehran maintaining “Slovakia is determined to elevate multilateral partnership with the Islamic Republic of Iran.”

Golian said “Iran remains a rich country with educated people and a civilized culture; Slovakia puts all efforts to set a firm ground for conducting cooperation with Tehran in all arenas especially political and economic ones.”

Highlighting that the Slovakian Embassy in Tehran marks a regional embassy for simultaneous undertaking of diplomatic affairs of Afghanistan, Pakistan and the Middle East; “as the current president of EU Council, Slovakia would take proper measures to uplift bonds between the Iran and the EU.”
