Iran crested at IPC Shooting World Cup

OSIJEK, Jul. 14 (MNA) – Three female participants from Iran on Monday managed to claim the first to third places in P2 10m air pistol shooting competitions in the IPC Shooting World Cup in Croatia.

Samira Eram with a total of 197.9 points was crowned the champion in P2 10m air postil shooting. Alieh Mahmoudi with 196.2 points claimed the second place and Sareh Javandmardi with 176.5 points stood at the third place in the IPC Shooting World Cup in the Croatian city of Osijek.

The Iranian women shooters were also awarded the championship title in the shooting team competitions.

Iran’s representatives will be competing today in P4 50m mild pistol shooting and 5R air pistol competitions.

Also on Monday, the Iranian team managed to clinch the second standing in P4 50m pistol mixed competitions.

Open to athletes who have a physical impairment leading to reduced function in the lower and/or upper limb(s), IPC Shooting is practiced in nearly 60 countries.

The event hosted by Croatia this year with ranking points earned towards a quota place for Rio 2016 Paralympics, opened in Osijek on Friday with the participation of 272 shooters from 47 countries.

The international sports event will end on July 15.
