Iran to digitize Tajikistan geological maps

Iran successfully launched a geomatics and geographic information systems (GIS) site in the country for the first time.

Geomatics is the discipline of gathering, storing, processing, and delivering of geographic information, or spatially referenced information.

The Tajik experts were also trained to apply the GIS software and to digitize the information and maps.
