Iranian Chess Players Qualify for World Event

TEHRAN, October 12 (Mehr News Agency) – Morteza Mahjoub and Shadi Paridar of Iran qualified for the world event Sunday.

Clashing in the West Asian qualifiers in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates, Mahjoub and Paridar won men’s and women’s titles with eight points each respectively.

 

Iran’s grand master Ehsan Qaem-Maqami, who stood runner-up in the Asian championship directly booked a spot in the world meet.
