According to Iran’s Seismological Center affiliated with the Institute of Geophysics of Tehran University, the earthquake occurred at 2:25 a.m. local time on Wednesday at a depth of 9 kilometers. The quake was also felt in Sarein.
The epicentre of the quake was located at 47.99 degrees longitude and 38.04 degrees latitude.
Rescue teams were immediately dispatched to the affected areas to assess the situation.
There were no immediate reports of injuries or severe damage.
