Iran urges Europeans to stop war in Yemen, supporting aggessors

TEHRAN, Jun. 27 (MNA) – Seyyed Kamal Kharrazi, the Head of Foreign Policy Strategic Council, said on Wednesday that Europe’s approach towards Yemeni crisis is inappropriate.

“It is not appropriate that Europeans keep hush over Yemen crisis and even support the aggressors,” said Seyyed Kamal Kharrazi, the Head of Foreign Policy Strategic Council, on Wednesday.

The Iranian former foreign minister made the remarks at a meeting in Tehran focused on geopolitical definition of Iran-France relations.

“Iran and France share features like concentrating efforts to protect their cultures and that is a breeding soil for expanding bilateral ties,” he affirmed.

He then referred to historic ties between Iran and France and described the academic interactions as another area for developing bilateral relations.

Kharrazi pointed to the French welcoming Imam Khomeini before the victory of the Islamic Revolution as a move which left a shining memory in the minds of Iranian people.

“Of course, there have been many tides and ebbs in the history of relations between Iran and France including the facts that the French provided arms support to Saddam’s regime or giving home to anti-Iranian terrorists on French soil to let them stage activities against Iran which fits no international law,” said the Iranian former diplomatic chief.

“Shared interests in the Middle East is another ground for expanding bilateral relations between Iran and France because France traditionally played an importance role in Middle Eastern countries like Lebanon, Syria and Iran and the role has also got bolder,” reiterated the Iranian former top diplomat.
