“Considering the lengthy background of trade relations between Iran and Sri Lanka, the chambers of commerce of the two countries can play a bold role with their familiarity with the areas of cooperation,” said Ali Larijani, the Speaker of Iranian Parliament on Thursday in Colombo.
The Iranian top parliamentarian made the remarks while meeting with Ranil Wickremesinghe the Prime Minister of Sri Lanka on Thursday.
“One of the objectives of this visit of mine is expanding parliamentary and economic relations between Iran and Sri Lanka and with the meetings held in this visit the ground is paved now,” highlighted the Iranian top lawmaker.
The Sri Lankan premier in this meeting, for his part, reassured that Sri Lanka is after normalizing relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran.
“The Sri Lankan president will soon travel to Iran and his visit will creat new grounds for cooperation,” delineated the Sri Lankan PM.
He voiced hope that the level of economic ties between the two countries grow in consistent with the growth in political relations.
