Iran-Russia relations at highest level: Iran’s ambs. to Moscow

TEHRAN, Apr. 18 (MNA) – Iranian Ambassador to Moscow Mehdi Sanaei told with Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gaynutin, the Chairman of the Russian Council of Muftis in a meeting on Wednesday that the relations between Tehran and Moscow are at their best status.

“Today, the Iran-Russia relations is at the best status of all times and is still progressing and naturally this trend will have good impacts for the Muslims of the two countries,” said Iranian Ambassador to Moscow Mehdi Sanaei on Wednesday.

The Iranian diplomat made the remarks in Moscow while meeting with Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gaynutin, the Chairman of the Russian Council of Muftis.

The two sides exchanged views on bilateral cultural interactions between Iran and Russia, regional issues, and the problems of the Islamic world in this meeting.

The Iranian envoy to Moscow also in this meeting extended gratitude for all the efforts of Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gaynutin in making the sects of Islam closer with a positive, constructive, and responsible approach.

The Russian religious figure, for his part, touched upon the regional issues and condemned the trilateral aggression in Syria by US, UK, and France.

“We, as the Muslims of Russia, the same as the officials of our country, categorically condemn any measure outside the framework of the UNSC and in opposition with international law,” reiterated the Russian senior cleric.
