Mohammad Reza Nouri Shahroudi, the Iranian Ambassador to Oman met with Omani Consultative Assembly Speaker Khalid Hilal bin Nasser al-Mawali on Thursday in Muscat. This was the first meeting of the two officials.
During the meeting the two officials, while discussing the issues of mutual interests, voiced content with the current status of bilateral relations between Tehran and Muscat.
While hailing the level of ties between the parliaments of the two countries, Shahroudi and al-Mawali underlined the necessity of forming Iran-Oman Joint Parliamentary Friendship Committees. Bilateral relations and convergence in the international communities between the parliamentary delegations of Iran and Oman were praised by the two officials.
In addition to condemning the recent terrorist attack on Tehran on June 7, the Omani lawmaker offered sympathies and condolences to the people and government of Iran.
Mr. Shahroudi also delivered the message of Ali Larijani, the Speaker of Iran’s Parliament, on the holy month of Ramadan, to the Omani legislator.
