MUSCAT, Feb. 15 (MNA) – Advisor to Iran’s Parl. Speaker voiced satisfaction with growth of friendly cooperation between Iran and Oman, saying stronger bilateral ties will benefit peace and stability of the region.

Ahmadreza Dastgheib made the remark in a meeting with Deputy Chairman of Consultative Assembly of Oman, Saleh Al-fasani in Muscat on Monday.

During the meeting, the Iranian official stressed the significance of expanding parliamentary cooperation between two countries, adding the Iranian Parliament welcomes further ties with Oman.

Dastgheib further extended the official invitation of Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani to chairmen of Oman’s Consultative Assembly and Council of State for participation in the sixth International Conference in Support of Palestine’s Intifada.

The conference will be held under the auspices of Iran’s Parliament on 21-22 February, 2017, in Tehran.

Dastgheib discussed the current undesirable situation in the region and the Islamic world, saying the Palestinian people are undergoing the greatest suffering; “The Zionist regime by taking advantage of the current situation is advancing its invasive policies against the Palestinian nation,” he added.

“The Parliament of the Islamic Republic of Iran will hold the international conference in support of Palestine to keep alive the Palestinian issue and put emphasis on the rights of the oppressed Palestinian people,” he said.

The Omani parliamentary official, for his part, voiced his country’s interest in expanding cooperation with Iran, and confirmed participation of a high-ranking parliamentary delegation in the international conference in support of Palestine.
