Larijani:

Iran welcomes regional coop. to build security

TEHRAN, Mar. 18 (MNA) – In separate messages to neighboring states on the occasion of Nowruz, Parliament Speaker Larijani said cooperation and constructive engagement among neighboring countries were prerequisites to solving regional issues.

On the verge of the new Iranian calendar year (to begin March 21), Ali Larijani issued separate congratulatory messages to his counterparts in Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Iraq, Turkey and Uzbekistan.

“Nowruz, as the vanguard of alteration in nature, has been always accompanied by freshness, happiness and prosperity,” said Larijani in his message expressing hope that the year ahead will bring about increasing evolution, progress and justice to nations.

The official rejoiced to extend his heartfelt congratulations to his counterparts and their colleagues on the occasion of the new Iranian year dubbed as ‘Nowruz’.

Later in his message, Iran’s Parliament speaker postulated that developments in the region, resolving challenges ahead and dealing with threats were all subject to cooperation and constructive engagement of all countries, neighboring states in particular.

He underscored that parliamentary dialogue would deepen friendly relations and lead to establishment of sustainable development.

Ali Larijani also stressed that the Islamic Republic of Iran would welcome any sort of regional cooperation, especially with neighboring countries, based on mutual respect for shaping all-round security, progress and development in economic, political and cultural arenas.
