Polytechnic University of Milan in collaboration with the Persian Students Association in that city will hold a session about the collection of Narges Abyar’s cinematographic works on March 3, followed by the screening of the director’s latest production, an Iran-Iraq war drama entitled ‘Breath’, for the students at the University of Milan.
‘Breath’ co-produced by Shining Light Inst., Mohammad Hossein Ghasemi, and Abouzar Pourmohammadi, won Fajr Film Festival's two trophies: Crystal Simorgh for Best National Film in 34th edition and Crystal Simorgh for Best Supporting Actress. In International Fajr Film Festival, 'Breath' was awarded Crystal Simorgh for Best Actress in the same edition.
The film narrates the story of an Iranian family who lives in Yazd, 1978-1983. Bahar, Nader, Kamal and Maryam are living with their father, Ghafour (Mehran Ahmadi) and Grandmother (Pantea Panahiha). They are living in their childish world, filled with their dreams and fantasies, which are about to become true.
The Iranian community in Turin in collaboration with the city’s municipality will also organize a program to review Abyar’s directed films on March 5.
Other notable films by Abyar include 'Track 143' and 'Objects In Mirror Are Closer Than They Appear'.
