‘Track 143’ opens Iran's Film Week in Azerbaijan

BAKU, May 15 (MNA) – Iran’s Film Week kicked off in the Republic of Azerbaijan on Sun. with the screening of Narges Abyar’s acclaimed film, ‘Track 143’.

Narges Abyar, the director, and Gelareh Abbasi, one of the actress of 'Track 143', were present as special guests in the opening ceremony of Iran’s Film Week in Azerbaijan.  

Head of Culture and Communication Organization of Azerbaijan, Minister of Culture and his deputy were among the participants of the event and sat for watching the screening of ‘Track 143’.

‘Track 143’ tells the story of a mother waiting for her son who has been missing in Pre-operation Valfajr during the war. She looks forward to her son's return for many years until she finally receives his bones brought to her in a coffin instead. The film has attended several international festivals and garnered a number of awards as well. 

Other films to be screened during the cultural week include ‘A Cube of Sugar’ by Reza Mirkarimi and ‘Painting Pool’ by Maziar Miri.

Iran's Film Week has been co-organized by the Iranian embassy’s culture center and Azerbaijan’s Tourism and Culture Ministry.
