'Breath' to be screened in US, Canada

TEHRAN, Jul. 20 (MNA) – Co-producer of 'Breath,' directed by Narges Abyar has said they have been preparing for screening of the film in the US and Canada in parallel to its screening in Iran.

Mohammad Hossein Ghasemi, a co-producer along with Shining Light (Nour-e-Taban) Cultrual and Artistic Institute, told reporters on Wednesday that the institute would welcome preparing for a parallel screening of Breath in the US and Canada; "according to planning by distributor, Breath would be on silver screen beginning in October 13, with Koroush Cinema Complex being the major screening unit," he added. Ghasemi, who worked with Abyar in producing Track 143, also told the press that a special plan would bring the movie ('Breath') to smaller cities where they suffer lack of screening hall; "we have a such successful experience with Track 143 that gives some hope to us to try again and bring the film to cities where people love to watch the film even under bare skies," he detailed.

Breath by Narges Abyar and co-produced by Shining Light Inst., Mohammad Hossein Ghasemi, and Abouzar Pourmohammadi, had won Fajr Film Festival's two trophies: Crystal Simorgh for Best National Film in 34th edition and Crystal Simorgh for Best Supporting Actress. In International Fajr Fiml Festival, Breath was awarded Crystal Simorgh for Best Actress in the same edition.

The film narrates the story of an Iranian family who lives in Yazd, 1978-1983. Bahar, Nader, Kamal and Maryam are living with their father, Ghafour (Mehran Ahmadi) and Grandmother (Pantea Panahiha). They are living in their childish world, filled with their dreams and fantasies, which are about to become true.
