“An economy delegation from Austria will travel to Golestan Province to develop cooperation on diverse economic areas,” said Austrian Ambassador to Tehran Friedrich Stift in his Tuesday meeting with the officials of Iranian northern province including the governor general of the province.
The diplomat recounted that the delegation is comprised of representatives of companies, cattle ranchers, and other economic activists who will weigh the potentials for bilateral cooperation.
“Austrian economy is too eager for expanding cooperation with Iran and many Austrian delegations have visited Iran in the last two and a half year,” underlined the Austrian envoy to Tehran, “there is a 500 year history of friendship and cooperation between Iran and Austria and around 40,000 Iranians are currently living in Austria out of them 2000 doctors active in Austrian health system.”
Mr. Stift maintained that the economy ministers of the two countries of Iran and Austria have signed a road map for the span of 2016 to 2020 and his visit to Golestan Province was part of that initiative.
“Fruit production in Austria does not meet the demand in the domestic market and this is one of the areas of cooperation to let Golestan export fruit to Austria,” said the Austrian diplomat touching upon the prospective areas of cooperation, “medical herbals and traditional Iranian medicine is another area of potential cooperation as the general public of Austria are more and more tending to use herbal remedies and traditional Iranian medicine not to mention that several Austrian delegation have so far cooperated with Iranian scientists on this area.”
