8 sides sign Arak redesigning guarantee

TEHRAN, Nov. 20 (MNA) – Head of AEOI announced that the document to redesign Arak Research Reactor was signed by all sides involved.

"We were informed today (Thursday) that the official document of redesigning Arak reactor was signed by the representatives of all sides of the nuclear agreement, the foreign minister of Iran and sextet plus EU foreign policy chief Mogherini," affirmed Ali Akbar Salehi, the Head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI), on Thursday in an interview with the IRIB.

Salehi quoted experts on international law saying that the document bears the highest degree of guarantee.

The representatives who have signed the document have committed their countries to a set of obligations that cannot be easily evaded, highlighted Salehi.

Pointing to the deadline for the final verdict of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), he noted that parallel to other measures to be taken prior to December 15 after the closure of the PMD case, the entire path will be cleared for implementing the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).

It is one of the conditions of the Islamic Republic of Iran, which was also stressed by the Leader, that all PMD allegations of the past should be scrapped, underlined the official.

He reiterated that all the future actions and decisions will be designed so that Iran would receive the guarantees from the opposite side of the agreement.

He voiced hope that in late December or early January the international status of trade and economy be restored to its former condition and all the sanctions be removed.

On July 14, along with EU foreign policy chief, the foreign ministers of Iran and six countries signed an agreement dubbed the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) according to which in return for some curbs on Iran’s civilian program of nuclear energy, the anti-Iran sanctions be lifted.

The anti-Iran sanctions were passed in UNSC in 2011, after the pressures posed by the US and Israeli regime accusing Iran to be after nuclear weapons.
