Considered as one of the emerging filmmakers of the Iranian documentary scene, Mokhtar Namdar’s works have been repeatedly screened in numerous national and international film festivals.
The House in Fog is his latest documentary film that tactfully embraces the loneliness of a woman with images that are closer to painting than photography.
The film recounts the story of a woman, named Sorayya, who lives her life of solitude in a 100 year old mansion in an idyllic hilly landscape where she seems to miss no one and her daily chores make her life meaningful. The house is the only reason she tolerates all the hardships of living alone in wild nature. But as huge as the mansion would be for its only inhabitant, it may be just fit for the secrets and ghosts of her past that follow her.
