Iran Navy repels pirate attack on trade vessel

TEHRAN, Jun. 19 (MNA) – Iranian Navy successfully hindered two pirate attacks on an Iranian merchant vessel in Gulf of Aden.

Iran’s naval forces, escorting Iranian merchant vessels and oil tankers in international sees, helped and Iranian ship when pirates tried to hijack the vessel with five speed boats.

Three hours later, the pirates attacked again with 11 boats, however they were repelled once again y Iranian navy.

In April, the Iranian Navy’s 34th naval fleet left Bandar Abbas for the Gulf of Aden and Bab al-Mandab Strait to carry out missions in the high seas.

Iran’s Navy has managed to thwart several pirate attacks on both Iranian and foreign tankers during its missions in international waters.
