43 people killed in Iraq bombings

TEHRAN, Aug. 25 (MNA) – According to Iraqi officials, a wave of attacks targeting commercial areas in and outside Baghdad has killed a total of 43 people.

According to Associated Press, a suicide bomber launched an attack among Shia pilgrims in front of a mosque Monday afternoon. This suicide attack killed at least 15 and wounded 32 more in the eastern areas of Baghdad. 

Iraqi officials confirmed that the attack was followed by a series of car bombings in southern areas of Baghdad.

“In Karbala, another explosion killed 12 civilians and wounded 31 others,” said medical officials who spoke on condition of anonymity, “In Hillah, two car bombing were launched in different areas, killing 11 people and wounding 26 others. 5 more people were also killed in two separate attacks in Baghdad.”
