Meeting with Iranian ambassador to Austria Seyyed Mohsen Nabavi and aiming to make preparations for holding the eighth meeting of Iran-Austria joint economic cooperation, Mayer welcomed expansion of Tehran-Vienna bilateral ties, saying that the volume of Iran’s exports to Austria has been constantly increasing during the past years.
The Austrian deputy also said that the Ministry of Labor and Economic Affairs of his country would soon announce its suggested date for holding the eighth meeting of Iran-Austria joint economic commission, which is due to be held in Tehran.
Bartenstein Austria's Minister for Economic Affairs and Labor will head the commission’s Austrian part, and Is'haq Jahangiri, Iran’s Minister of Industries and Mines will head the commission’s Iranian part.
On his part, Nabavi explained about the development trend of Iran-Austria commerce and economic ties, and stressed the expansion of bilateral relations especially in energy sector and technology conveyance.
He added that given the geo-economic position of Austria in center of Europe, the necessity of increasing the oil and gas mutual cooperation becomes more highlighted.
The implementation of project of constructing pipeline to transmit gas to Europe via Austria is of paramount importance for the two countries, said the Iranian ambassador.
He also noted that in order to tighten and promote Tehran-Vienna ties, Javadi, the managing director of Iranian National Company of Gas Export Development will travel to Austria, Slovenia, and Slovakia in late January.
Pointing out to Iran’s geopolitical position in the region, Nabavi also called for Iran-Austria cooperation in Iraq, Afghanistan, and Central Asia.
