Home Appliance International Exhibition opens in Tehran

TEHRAN, Nov. 28 (MNA) –- The 10th Home Appliance International Exhibition opened for four days Sunday in Tehran International Fair Ground.

IRIB reported that 225 domestic companies and 66 foreign firms are taking part in the show.

 China, India, Germany, France, Italy and the UK as well as some other Asian and European countries have participated in the event.

 Secretary-General of Home Appliances Industries Organization Habibollah Ansari stated on the sidelines of the opening ceremony of the fair that over $75 million worth of Iranian made home appliances had been exported from Iran in a six month period ending September 2010

He pointed out that the export destinations for Iranian home appliances included Italy, Germany, Iraq, Afghanistan, Tajikistan, Armenia, and Azerbaijan.

 Home appliances exports in the past Iranian calendar year (ending March 2010) reached $180 million, showing a 150 percent rise compared to the year before, he said.
