Dutch institute holding online exhibit of Iranian cartoonist’s works

TEHRAN, Jan. 5 (MNA) -- An online exhibit displaying cartoons by the young Iranian artist Payam Purfallah is now available on the Dutch website of Parsaban.

Parsaban website was established in the Netherlands and is a cultural institute that reviews art and culture of Iran and the Middle East.

 

The Dutch institute regularly holds online exhibits and later, the artist is invited to hold an exhibit in the country, the Persian service of ISNA reported.

 

A selection of 24 works by Purfallah created over the past year has been put on display at the www.parsaban.nl, and his exhibit is due to be arranged in Amsterdam afterwards.

 

Purfallah was born in 1988 in Isfahan and has held several solo exhibits in Isfahan, Tehran and Kashan. He is also an active cartoonist in newspapers for the past few years.

 

To date, Purfallah has received several national and international awards, among them are prizes from the 15th “Olense Kartoenale” contest in Belgium in 2003, China LM International Cartoon exhibition in 2004, and the 4th “Syria Cartoon” international festival in 2008.
