The President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Masoud Pezeshkian, and his Turkish counterpart, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, held a telephone conversation discussing the latest situation resulting from the military aggression of the United States and the Zionist regime against Iran, the announcement of a ceasefire, and ways to definitively end the war.
During the call, Pezeshkian expressed gratitude for the efforts of some friendly and neighboring countries to halt the military aggression against Iran, and thanked Turkey’s positions in condemning the unjust aggression of the US and Israel against the country, particularly the remarkable solidarity of the Turkish nation with the Iranian nation.
Pezeshkian emphasized that despite America’s betrayal of diplomacy and its attack on Iran during the two previous rounds of negotiations, the Islamic Republic of Iran, with a sense of responsibility, has accepted the request of neighboring and friendly countries to stop the war and establish a ceasefire.
The President stressed the necessity of ending the war on all fronts, including Lebanon, and stated that Israel’s actions are aimed at setting the region on fire, and Islamic countries must confront the Zionist regime’s warmongering and endangerment of regional stability and security through solidarity.
Pezeshkian added that it is essential for the international community and Islamic countries to pressure the United States and the Zionist regime to stop their aggressions and crimes against regional countries, especially Lebanon.
The President also emphasized that Iran’s responsible approach in accepting the ceasefire is aimed at preserving regional stability and preventing the spread of conflicts, and its continuation depends on the genuine commitment of the other party to its obligations.
The Turkish President, for his part, expressed hope for success and honor for the new Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Mojtaba Khamenei, and the government and nation of Iran.
Erdogan also offered condolences for the martyrdom of a number of Iranian citizens and wished for the speedy recovery of the wounded. He emphasized the solidarity of the Turkish government and nation with the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Recep Tayyip Erdogan expressed satisfaction with the cessation of the war and emphasized his country’s readiness to cooperate with friendly countries in the region to continue efforts to establish lasting security in the region.
