Witkoff claims Iranian officials are calling him

Speaking in a 60-Minutes interview with CBS News, the US envoy claimed Iranian leaders are now calling him.

"We're there to, you know, hopefully have a long-term diplomatic solution with Iran," Witkoff said.

At a weekly press briefing, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei responded to recent remarks by Witkoff.

The spokesperson confirmed that mediated contacts between Iran and other parties have continued more or less as before, with intermediaries exchanging messages between the sides.

However, he added that it cannot be claimed that a formal negotiation process is imminent.
