Iran registers over 17,200 COVID-19 cases in a day

TEHRAN, Jul. 07 (MNA) – The Iranian Health Ministry has confirmed 17,212 COVID-19 infections and 166 deaths due to the disease in the past 24 hours.

Health Ministry Spokesperson Sima Lari made the announcement on Wednesday, saying that the number of total coronavirus cases in the country has so far reached 3,304,135 with the death toll standing at 85,261.

According to Lari, 3,344 patients are in critical condition while 2,967,821 patients have recovered.

So far more than 24.19 million tests have been taken across the country to detect infected cases, she added.
