Iranian President Hassan Rouhani made the comments in a meeting with the speaker of Russia's Duma Vyacheslav Volodin on the sidelines of the 2nd conference of parliament speakers of Afghanistan, Iran, Pakistan, Turkey, China and Russia on the challenges of terrorism which was held in Tehran on Saturday.
During the meeting, President Rouhani said “no third-party country is able to undermine the bilateral, regional and international relations between Iran and Russia.”
Rouhani added “fortunately in the recent years, we have made the most of our potentials and capabilities to deepen relations between the two countries.”
“Cooperation in energy, joint ventures, agriculture, transportation and construction of Incheh Borun-Gramsar railway are the successful examples of cooperation between Iran and Russia,” he added.
Rouhani also said “negotiation and cooperation between Iran and Russia in different sectors such as energy, science and technology, and regional issues such as resolving the Syrian crisis should continue until we reach the desired results.”
At the same meeting, Chairman of the State Duma of Russia Vyacheslav Volodin highlighted the developing ties based on friendship between Tehran and Moscow in recent years.
“There is collective resolve in Russia for full implementation of agreements with Iran and we will make every effort in this regard,” he added.
