The Pakistani side emphasized that developing amicable and close ties with the Islamic Republic of Iran is ‘inevitable’ for the promotion of peace, security and prosperity of the region.
Pakistan attaches great importance to its relations with Iran, he said, adding, “the current government of Pakistan is determined to strengthen relations between the two neighboring states.”
He also placed special emphasis on the necessity of expanding and developing joint cooperation between the two sides in different sectors of trade, business, investment and energy with the aim of securing mutual interests.
The Speaker of the National Assembly of Pakistan pointed out that Tehran and Islamabad should work together to resolve problems facing the Islamic Ummah.
For his part, Iran’s Ambassador to Pakistan Mehdi Honardoost said that Iran considers Pakistan as an important partner in the field of materializing objectives of regional peace and security.
In this meeting, Honardoost submitted a letter of invitation to the Speaker of the National Assembly of Pakistan for participation at the 2nd summit of parliament speakers of six countries - Iran, Afghanistan, China, Pakistan, Russian Federation and Turkey - which is going to be held in Tehran next month.
