Ali-Asghar Yousefnejad Presiding MP read the request and added, “in line with enforcement of Articles 222 and 223 of Parliament internal bylaw, most members of the Parliament requested for impeachment of the labor minister.”
He reiterated, “the request for impeaching the minister of Labor, Cooperatives and Social Welfare had been referred to the Parliament Social Commission on July 3.”
According to the Article 225 of the Parliament regulations, the minister of labor is duty bound to attend the Parliament within 10 days in order to respond to the questions to be raised by the legislators.
Accordingly, the Minister of Labor, Cooperatives and Social Welfare was impeached on March 13, 2018 at the request of 24 members of the Parliament but he survised the impeachment motion and won the vote of confidence.
