Rouhani’s picks win confidence vote

TEHRAN, Oct. 29 (MNA) – The two picks proposed by President Rouhani to Parliament for acquiring the positions of science minister and energy minister managed to win the parliament vote to get the posts.

The two candidates of President Hassan Rouhani won the parliament confidence vote after a day of grueling debates in the main hall of the parliament.

Mansour Gholami, the proposed Minister of Science, Research, and Technology acquired 180 yes votes, 82 lawmakers voted against him and 14 legislators abstained.

Reza Ardekanian, the proposed Minister of Energy got 225 yes votes, 38 no votes, and 13 neutral ones.
