Air raid on holy places, civilians unjustified

TEHRAN, Mar. 19 (MNA) – FM Spokesperson Ghasemi, while slamming air raids on a mosque near Aleppo, said aggression against holy shrines and religious places with whatsoever intention remains reprehensible and unjustifiable.

Bahram Ghasemi, Spokesman of the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, strongly condemned air raids against a mosque on the outskirts of Aleppo in Syria leaving tens of prayers dead or injured.

“Claiming responsibility for the attack by the United States Central Command and explaining their motivation will never ease the burden on American forces,” he reiterated.

Dozens of people have been killed after fighter jets struck a packed mosque during prayer time in a rebel-held village in northern Syria, according to a monitoring group and activists.

The jets reportedly struck at the time of evening prayer so the mosque was full of worshippers, with local activists saying up to 300 people were inside at the time of the air raids.
