Iran's support for terrorism baseless accusation

Iran's support for terrorism baseless accusation

TEHRAN, Mar. 19 (MNA) – Bahram Ghasemi, while rejecting recent allegations by US Department of State against Iran, deemed Iran's support for terrorism charges as politically-loaded and unfounded.

Spokesman of Iran’s Foreign Ministry Ghasemi made the remarks in reaction to a recent statement by the United States Department of State which imposes sanctions against two Bahraini political activists and hurls unsubstantiated accusations against the Islamic Republic of Iran.

“It is beyond expectation for the US, who falsely claims to be a supporter of democracy and human rights, to refuse to stand on the side of regimes who violate human rights or to refrain from attributing wild accusations against other countries in order to preserve its short-term interests,” he continued.

Ghasemi went on to stress that undoubtedly and unsurprisingly, a government which is distrustful of a large portion of its people will demand its security from aliens and extra-regional powers instead of relying on its own nation.

“Charges of Iran’s support for terrorism are displaced and politically-charged ones to the extent that accusers are aware of futility of their claims,” underscored the official.

FM spokesman, while emphasizing that the Islamic Republic of Iran is fully aware of the intentions behind baseless accusations which pursue certain political objectives, concluded “despite false propaganda and reprehensible charges, Iran will remain fully committed to its usual policy of combating and eradicating terrorism in all its form through cooperation.”
